Community Arts Projects
Bowen Fables:
There is no real border between gossip, legends, the construction of myths, and the evolution of local identity. This blurring of boundaries was explored through Bowen Fables: A community arts project on Bowen Island, BC. The project was produced in collaboration with artist Liz Nankin, The Bowen Island Museum and Archives, and funded by The Bowen Island Municipality.
We invited the community to participate in turning local legends into shadow-puppet film fables. Over a period of several weeks participants dropped in to share stories, write scripts, cut puppets, and help shoot a series of five short films.

MOBILE FILM CAMP
Over several summers (pre-covid), I worked with youth in several communities in the Sea-to-Sky corridor and on the Sunshine Coast on a series of youth created films. The participants wrote, acted, directed and starred in the films.
